Jessie is looking for a new home where she can be the princess of her own castle. This beautiful 3 and ½ year old shepherd mix is sweet as can be with adults and children but prefers not to be in the company of other dogs. The ideal home for her would be with someone who has, or is willing to get, experience with obedience training a large breed dog. Jessie has had some training and her manners have improved but she’ll never be a dog park dog. What she is, however, is a sweet, loving and faithful companion who is looking for a family to call her own. She is spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped. For more information, please contact Evelyn at (661)264-3361 or desertsky84@yahoo.com |

Meet Manny (bottom) and Moe! (top) These 1 year old brothers were saved when their family was about to dump them at a very high kill shelter. Manny and Moe are Shepherd mixes. Moe is more like a mini Shep whereas his brother Manny looks very Rhodesian/Shepherd mix. Both kids are happy just frolicking in a yard playing and lounging with one another; they are the best buddies we have ever met and are pretty much inseparable. One looks to the other for security and guidance constantly. Both Manny and Moe are currently in a foster home and patiently waiting for their time to come. They are medium energy level and would be great family "hang around the house" dogs, happy with a walk every so often.....but very content hanging around the house and yard. They are very much in love with one another, but can be placed separately if need be in order to find these loverboys a forever home. Manny and Moe love kids, love all people, men, women, whoever...they just adore getting pets & love as much as possible. They are such people dogs and are extremely loyal to their special person or family. Manny is the goofier of the two as he loves to play fetch, tug of war, and entertain himself with dog toys. Moe is the kissier one, taking every opportunity to give you a doggy bath full of licks and kisses! Both are wonderfully crate-trained and behave themselves quite nicely without complaining when it's time to go in there. If you are interested in meeting "frick or frack" as I affectionately call them, please do not hesitate to call Stephanie at 310.497-0472 or email steffpaige@aol.com. |

Donkey was saved from death row at a local shelter. The vet believes he is between 4-5 years old and weighs about 70 pounds. He loves every single person he meets. His first home must have had children, because he is a saint with toddlers. Donkey knows his basic commands by voice and hand. He is potty trained. Not a big barker, but will alert you if someone is out front of the house. He's very calm in the house, but always ready to play outside when you are. His idea of a perfect evening is curling up with you on the couch for a night of reality TV or romantic comedies. He loves car rides and playing fetch. He needs to be in a home without small animals (especially cats). Contact Michelle at sukisnappa@hotmail.com for more information. |

I'm trying to place this loving pit bull family of 3. I am not any type of rescue organization, I own a pet sitting business, but can never turn my head and will always help an animal whenever the need be. I have already found a home for 1 of their pups and am currently residing in a rental house in Torrance that is in foreclosure and will be required to move pretty soon. I do not want to be forced to take them to the shelter, I'd prefer to find them foster or forever homes. :( Big Daddy, the male, approximately 2-3 years old, was originally tied up to a fence, to fight other pit bulls on the other side of the fence, while his puppy, approximately 12 weeks old, was thrown into the yard as bait! I ran into the yard and rescued the pup. Later that evening, I found the mommy, approximately 2-3 years old), walking alongside the railroad tracks, close to the yard with her other identical looking pup. I also rescued 2 other very dog friendly, sociable, playful lab mix puppies. They are spayed/neutered and vaccinated and also looking for forever homes. Please contact me if you are interested in fostering or adopting any of these wonderful dogs.Thank you! |

Jessie and Callie were rescued out of their foreclosing home a day after the county left an impound notice on their door. Jessie is severely underweight. They have been seen by a vet, they are up to date on their shots, they were already spayed, they have baths, new collars and leashes, dog beds and a couple of toys. They are in a VERY TEMPORARY foster situation right now with a friend of mine and they really need to get into their new furever home. Fifteen year old Callie is still very active and keeps up just great with the 5 year old Jessie. The vet said that Callie is in great health and looks like she is around 11. They are wonderful together and we would prefer to keep them together if possible (but if not…we will split them up if we have to). Jessie loves to run and play and roll around on the grass. The owners stated that they are great with kids, other dogs and cats and they seem to love people. They also love to sleep which is apparently what they do A LOT! They are house broken and typically sleep through the night!!! We are looking for someone with a big heart and a willingness to take these girls in and give them the loving home they deserve. |

I rescued this beauty from the Canoga Park Animal Shelter a little over a year ago. After spending and putting in time with her I realized that she was infact trained and highly intelligent. She obeys commands on first request, and waits politely at the door to do her business. She lives to please her people and loves their company. Twila is a black german shepherd with a possible hint of lab (she looks mainly shepherd to me) she is around 6 years of age and appears to be in good health, she could afford to lose a few pounds. She loves to go on short walks and is great on a leash. She enjoys the beach, dog park, going on a boat, she hikes and camps as well!. She currently lives with a large male german shepherd who she gets along with great. Twila loves people of all shapes and sizes even children. Twila has a mellow temperment and enjoys relaxing for the most part of her day. I feel that Twila would be best in a home where she can be around people most of the time, and be supervised throughout the day. She does well being confined for short periods of time in a room. If you are looking for a mellow girl to add to your family Twila is the girl for you! Please contact me with any questions or to express interest by email at anytime of the day. My name is Jennifer, I can be reached at Jetta2jen@gmail.com. |

Heaven Can Wait Animal Society is desperately trying to find a home for Gabby. She is a 5 or 6 year old German shepherd mix who is currently enrolled in our Pups on Parole program. Gabby has a long history with HCWS. She was found running down a highway several years ago and was rescued by our volunteers. She was adopted by a woman who moved around a lot and ultimately could no longer take care of Gabby. The woman returned her to HCWS. Now Gabby is at the prison program, but she is having a difficult time adjusting. And to make matters worse, the one inmate she bonded with is being taken out of the Pups on Parole program. Gabby is a wonderful dog and will be a good companion for anyone who
understands the needs of a large dog with lots of energy. She knows many
commands and is a loving dog with a big personality. She doesn't understand
why her life keeps changing and needs a permanent human guardian she can
count on. Here is the link so you can see Gabby's picture and read more about her: |

Sasha is a female purebred long haired german shepherd born 03/09, so she is just 8 months old. Sasha is a high energy girl who will need a home experienced in raising larger dogs. She was not well socialized in her last home, so at times she is very anxious around strangers and new places. She walks well on the leash and knows some basic commands. Sasha does play hard (mouthy), so she cannot go to a home with small children or small pets. She did have a playtime with some medium dogs and a pug and did really well... she wants to make friends :-) While this dog is looking for a permanent home, he/she is available for fostering. Fostering means temporarily keeping the pup until the permanent home is found. If you would like to find out about our fostering program, please visit our homepage and then email Amoorkah@hotmail.com. for a foster application. If you are interested in adopting one of our special babies, please visit our main website for adoption procedures and then fill out our application at: www.pupsandpals.net. lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, phone interview, adoption fee and in some case a home check. |

Harley is the sweetest, most engaging, lovely, well mannered German Shepherd lady you'll ever meet. She's a fun and happy girl (her tail is always wagging), she loves people and begs with her beautiful face and sweet soulful eyes to come and say hi and they always do. She was gentle with some children who petted her and was pals with a small dog with whom she shared a run at the shelter. Harley met some cats - one nice cat and one not so nice and she wasn't interested in either one. When you hang out with her, she checks in every so often, gives you kisses and waits for you to give her some nice body scratches. She's alert and interested in the world; its smells and sounds and people so short walks would suit her just fine. She doesn't ask for much but she will give you love, joy, a rich life, and a true friendship based on the wisdom she has gained over the years. Meet Harley and experience her magical qualities. Contact Tiffany at tiffanycgsr@sbcglobal.net. |

She stayed a week with a trainer for evaluation of temperament and assessment of behavior. Sasha is spayed, chipped and up to date with shots. There is an adoption fee for her. My name is Daniel Perez and I found a German Shepherd mix running in the street (Carson St.) on a recent morning. She was running in and out of the lanes on both sides of the street, so I picked her up. She had a tag, so I called the number and the gentleman I spoke to said he'd given her away and he would pick her up unless I wanted her. I told him, "yes" even though I did not mean it because she was very emaciated and I didn't trust his story. Her name is Mailey, she is between 6 and 8 months, and she is a very sweet dog (she does great around my 7 month old daughter). Mailey is a great family dog with a special need. I took her to my aunt and uncle, who are veterinarians, who took x-rays of her chest and found that she has megaesophagus. This means that her esophagus is enlarged (in Mailey's case 8 times the normal size and my uncle said "she's like a bird!") and food gets caught in her esophagus and can't easily make it's way down to her stomach (probably the biggest factor in why she was emaciated) and making her proned to vomiting. She needs to be on a high calorie diet and to have her food bowls elevated. Eating multiple small meals instead of 1 or 2 big meals also helps. Mailey appears to be putting on weight and her belly is definitely full (it was empty when I found her). I have started house breaking her but she is not house broken yet (I think a dog crate would do the trick), have taught her how to sit and started teaching her how to lie down. I never wanted to keep her, but compassion will not let me take her to the pound. She has improved leaps and bounds since I've brought her home. I would like to keep her, but there is no way I can afford her or give her the attention she needs (I have a 7 month old who takes much of my time and I am unemployed with no prospects yet on the horizon). Mailey needs a special person who is willing to give her the extra time and attention, along with the right food and medicine, so that she can live a happy life. If you would like more information or to meet Mailey, please call me at (310)698-9764 or email me at dprodeje97@aol.com. |

Popeye is a handsome 1 year old german shepherd. He was living on the streets for 2 weeks with his pal, Orville, before anyone realized that he didn't have a home. Now he is safe and sound with his foster daddy. Popeye gets along with other dogs, maybe with cats, and children. He weighs about 70 pounds and he is housebroken with a doggy door. He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, fecal test done, microchipped, and frontlined. Contact terrell at 323-385-8993 or tc2806@hotmail.com. |

Odie is a sweet 1 year old shepherd mix that was rescued from Hanford Animal Control and needs a home. She was very thin and scared when I got her but has come a long way in the time I have had her. Odie is outgoing, very affectionate, and loves children and adults. No other dog issues whatsoever and cats are fine also as long as they are not sprinting by because she loves to chase and play. I think she is going to be pretty decent size due to her big feet and she is spayed and up to date on her shots. I live in town and have one to many dogs and took her in because of the bad shape she was in. Odie has been in the house but not that much. She's doing well on housebreaking but still has an accident now and then when she gets excited. She is not a fence jumper but will dig a good hole if allowed. I give her plenty of things to chew on so the digging is very minimal. We go for walks daily if the weather permits and she loves water but does not like to have a bath. She would make a wonderful family addition to whoever adopts her. For more information, please contact Jennifer of the Bar Z Ranch Rescue in Lemoore (just south of Fresno) at jgvanert@comcast.net. |

This handsome 5 year old is Sarge. He's tall but skinny and weighs about 60 pounds but hopefully the healthier he gets the bigger he'll get. I found him wandering the streets and he looked like he hadn't eaten in weeks, so I brought him home, got him healthy and gave him lots of food. I would love to keep him but I already have 3 dogs and not enough room for another. He's been neutered, is up to date on all his vaccinations and is microchipped. He's really good with people, he just wants to cuddle and be petted. Sarge has been really good with my 3 other dogs (2 small and 1 big) but he gets territorial whenever my friends bring their dogs over. He's potty trained and understands the word "no" surprisingly well. He's an inside dog but loves to be outside; he can jump high but not high enough to get over fences. He needs training but he walks great on a leash, sometimes goes side to side to smell everything but never pulls. My name is Stephanie and I can be reached at (714)686-5268 or soccerchick2and6@yahoo.com. Please help me find him a good home! |

Buddy is a gorgeous purebred German Shepherd who is around 5-6 years old. This is a big boy about 120 lbs and very tall. I met Buddy as he ran up to me at 87th + Main Streets in South Central L.A. with a paw that looked as though it was sliced in half, dripping blood all over the pavement, with an old dirty rope hanging from his neck. He was not difficult to catch, since he ran right up to me and sat as if I had given him a command. He was filthy, very thin and full of fleas. We assumed that he was dumped off on the street in front of our mobile spay/neuter clinic because of his injured paw. It looked like he tore his paw on razor wire. After a month of care, he was ready for his forever home but no one has ever applied for Buddy. He is a special dog that will not immediately bond with you. He is the type of dog that needs to learn to trust you. Once he understands that you are kind, he is a big puppy, very affectionate and gentle. He plays well with dogs, walks beautifully on a leash, knows basic obedience, and is housetrained. So far, 2008, 2009 have not been Buddy's years to find his forever home. We are hopeful that we can find him a home very soon. He would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner. Buddy would be overjoyed to live with a female dog or two! Please call 818-407-4145 or apply to adopt Buddy at www.downtowndogrescue.org. |

She is learning to be housebroken with a doggy door and she weighs about 20 pounds. She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and Frontlined. Feebe is definitely one of a kind! This 5 year old, Lab - German Shepherd - Belgian Malinois mix is a stunning beauty with a soft tummy (she loves belly rubs!) and unparalleled devotion. Feebe's ideal day would go something like this: yummy breakfast, a 20 minute walk, a good Bully stick while sitting at your feet, and then giving you lots of tender kisses. She can be the silliest klutz in the world (think Kramer's entrance on Seinfeld!) and yet runs in a backyard with the grace of an athlete. Feebe is extremely smart and although she still has plenty of energy, she prefers to be mellow and cuddle with someone more than anything else. Feebe would do best in a single dog household with an experienced owner. She is also good with kids, though not with cats. She has had a really tough past, but has come such a long way due to lots of training and structure. She responds well to guidance- she literally grins from ear to ear when she knows she is doing right by you! She craves praise and is such a good girl who knows all the basic commands perfectly. Feebe is spayed, up to date on all her shots, and is a healthy girl. She has been living in a foster home for over a year now with a volunteer who could not let her perish at the shelter and took her on her very last day. But this home has another female dog and rotating fosters which has not worked out for Feebe. It's time for her to find a forever home and live happily ever after with a family of her own that can give her what she needs! She deserves it and will be the most loyal, loving, sweet companion in return. You could not ask for a better best friend than Feebe. For more click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSj3kFJY-Us Home check and adoption fee will be required. Serious interest only, please contact katyalidsky@gmail.com |

Diego is about 3 years old, about 70 lbs. and will be neutered this week. He is very picky about who he will associate with, both 2-legged and 4-legged. He is very sweet, but is a ‘resource guarder’. He will need obedience training refreshers…some training has already been done with him. Any inquiries can be directed to Mike at either mikel@wrr-inc.org or call (714) 673-3729 |
Sophie is a pretty 5 year old shepherd mix, weighs 55 lbs. She is spayed and up to date on all of her vaccines. She is great with adults, but is not comfortable around young children. She would do best in a cat free home and as an only dog. She is housebroken and LOVES her 30-45 minute walks every day, and loves to be active. She is trained to sit, lie down, shake and high-five. She walks well on a leash. We are heartbroken to have to find another home for her and really want to find a wonderful single adult or couple (anyone with older kids is fine). There is a small adoption fee. For more info please call Greg at (949) 499-5860 or email greg@collinsone.net |

Sophie is a beautiful 4 year old black German Shepherd. She has been through obedience training, she does have a high prey drive but is a good girl and very protective and alerts if she hears noises. Sophie gets excited and barks when she initially sees another dog, but once she meets them (as long as they are not too small) she calms down and is okay. She is a bit of a puller on walks for the first 1/4 mile but calms down after that. She eats either Proplan Sentitive Stomach(Salmon) or Natures Rescipe(Venision) due to food allergies and takes medication daily as well. Due to a divorce, I’ve had to move and I don’t have a safe place for Sophie. If I was in a better situation I would keep my dear girl but I need to find a home for her now. |

T.J.is a 1 year old German Shepherd mix. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. He is sweet natured, but of course he's still a puppy so very rambunctious. He likes to chew, so he needs bones frequently and goes through them quickly. He needs basic training, but unfortunately we cannot find the time right now to get him that. He is potty trained and crate trained. He really does well in his crate and likes it. He loves to run in the hills and chase sticks and balls.
He doesn't do well yet on his leash, but training I think would be helpful. |

I’m such a sweet boy… and my new name is Casey. Some kind ladies up at the Wildlife Way Station saw me wandering… lost… feeling scared… and they opened the car door and I jumped right in! They think I’m probably a weimaraner/boxer mix and I’ll go along with that because they think I’m really handsome. I had no tags, no ID on me… they think someone didn’t love me very much and just wanted me to go away. I’m about 2 years old and if you are interested in me, the kind lady who found me will have me neutered (whatever that means!) I also come with a year’s free food. Wow! I think I’m a bargain. Please help and give me the home I so want. I promise I’ll be yours forever! After all, I’m a dog and I don’t think I fit in real well at the Waystation where I’m all alone in a cage. Please call Kat Campbell at (818)889-5201 if you think you are the answer to all my prayers. |

Roxy is a friendly, very intelligent dog. She’s very polite – she’ll wait to be asked to go in or out a door, and she’ll bond quickly with you, following you everywhere. She’s happiest just laying at your feet. She gets along well with cats. Roxy needs a yard with a minimum six-foot fence or wall, or she may try to escape when left unsupervised in the yard. She will probably do best in a home with kids or other dogs to keep her company. Her relinquishing owners stated she is good in the house, gets along with cats and other dogs and is good with children. She makes a good guard dog, yet is sweet and tender with her owners. She’ll win your heart! Roxy is available through Southland Collie Rescue (http://www.collie.org ) or email Theresa at sciencelady@gmail.com for more information. |

These 3 adorable puppies were saved by a wonderful lady named Rhonda while on a trip to India. The pups were being sold as food at a market, so Rhonda didn't even think twice.
