Maverick is a large and very handsome male German Shepherd, age 5.  His best friend is a female GSD with whom he gets along wonderfully. He has a medium energy level – he enjoys a balance between playing and taking naps.  He is easy to walk as he has perfect leash manners and is also house broken.  Maverick loves to play with toys, and with other doggie pals. He might be happy living with another canine best friend since he enjoys being around them. Being a typical GSD, he is independent yet, does enjoy cuddles from time to time. Maverick was rescued from a LA City Shelter and is currently living in a foster home.  He can resource guard his food/treats so he would do best in a home with no kids and with someone experienced with shepherds. This issue is very fixable with the right trainer and method. Clyde and Olive are four-year-old Neapolitan Mastiff/Great Dane mixes. Neutered and spayed. Clyde is dog friendly, while Olive can be dog selective. However, Olive does great in public and often goes to the local coffee shops and restaurants close to her foster mom’s house and is non-reactive to other dogs who do not approach her space. Full of love and thriving off of attention, Olive leans into you when you pet her and is open and receiving to anyone who pets her and shows her love. She is an incredibly happy dog and is very eager to please for positive reinforcements of love and attention. Olive knows her basic commands, is potty trained and walks very well on a leash. Clyde has really blossomed into his own personality without Olive overshadowing him for attention. He is quiet, calm and thougthful in nature. A wonderful companion who will show you the true meaning of unconditional love.  While we would love to have them adopted together, they have been fostered in separate homes, and we are confident in our findings over the past months neither dog shows any sign of stress without each other or longing for the other. Meet sweet Maya!   This pretty girl, approximately 4.5 yrs old, 55-60 lbs, was found running around as a stray in the desert!  As such, she is very shy but is improving in her rescuer’s home.  Maya would do best with an easy-going doggie companion to help her come all the way out of her shell.  She currently lives with a male mixed breed, and senior female pit bull mix and gets along well with both dogs. Maya likes toys and dragging her blanket outside, and she very much appreciates a kiddie pool when it’s hot outside so she can cool her paws!  Maya likes to ride in the car and enjoys it more when her buddy Oscar rides along.  Maya is crate trained and behaves very well at the vet. In order to build her confidence, Maya would do best in a quiet, low-key home (without small children) with a confident & laid-back dog who can help her become the best version of herself.  If there is a yard, it needs to be secure so she cannot escape if she gets frightened - she is petrified of fireworks and needs to be inside while they occur. Ghost is a beautiful six year old German Shepard. He is very playful, he loves to chase balls and bones. He is extremely fast and has never been beaten by another dog in a sprint to a ball. He has never had problems with other dogs, but older dogs sometimes find his energy level a bit annoying. Ghost is extremely friendly on walks and never growls at people or animals. He absolutely loves to give hugs and will wrap his front paws around you if you allow, he sometimes he needs to be nudged back. He is housebroken and will not eat unattended food on the table. Meet Onyx, a year old, female Shepherd mix.  This smaller sized beauty loves to exercise!   She would be perfect for an active family that likes running, hiking and other outdoor activities. Onyx is very spirited and barks when she’s excited.  She does well with other dogs although her playfulness is too much for small dogs and for small children. She would do best in a home with another medium-large dog, and older children.  She gets along with some cats but does not do well with feathered friends. Onyx is young and does best when she is kept busy.  She is a fast learner and enjoys practicing new tricks, including commands.  She can heel on-leash, knows sit, and has almost mastered stay. She is both house-trained and crate trained. She is comfortable sleeping in her crate during the night and throughout the day if needed at times.
