Macy von Maritza is an adorable 3-month old German Shepherd puppy. She was born with congenital defects, she has something that is seen more frequently now and called the straight legged syndrome. Macy has no hip sockets and her back leg joints aren’t were they should be, there is no corrective surgery. She is learning to compensate and is building her muscles to help her move and have quality of life. Her foster mom says most of the time Macy gets up by herself but sometimes her foster mom helps her. She has spent a month in physical therapy, but after seeing her in a less controlled environment a home with other dogs, we think her progress has been tremendous in just a few days. This sweet girl has so much love in her heart and enjoys soaking up your affection .Her foster mom describes her as a happy and playful puppy. She'll romp around with dogs of all sizes and cats, too! This little one is quite smart already and listens and understands direction. She is doing well with her potty training and is a quick learner. During those times when you need to tear yourself away from this cutie pie, Macy is happily content to play on her own with her toys. Upon meeting Macy, you will be in awe of her determination and zest for life.....and then she'll hop into your heart. Macy doesn’t know she isn’t like other puppies, she needs someone to accept her the way she is and enjoy her amazing determination to enjoy life and what she has been given!
