Thank Heavens for our alert volunteer, Csilla Merrill who, while rescuing 2 other dogs from the Camarillo Shelter, decided to check on a lovely 4 year old lady listed on our Shelter Listings page. This beautiful girl, scheduled to be put to sleep on 9/1, gave birth to 5 puppies (4 boys and 1 girl) on 9/1 and no one even knew she was pregnant!
What a dignified and uncomplaining sweetheart.
Thanks to volunteer Susan Hunt for finding a foster home with Linda Denning where Lady patiently allows fawning volunteers to touch her babies with care and take nonstop photos. Thanks also to Robin and Sharon for setting all the wheels in motion.
So EIGHT lives were saved today! It was a good day!
Lady and her pups are not ready for adoption, yet, but we are taking applications.
Sadly one of the boy puppies has passed away.
