Katie von Churwalden is sweetest girl you will ever meet. She is about nine months old and is still very puppyish. Katie had a rough start in life. Somehow the toes on one of her back legs were severed from some kind of trauma. Lots of people inquired about her at the shelter, but when they found out she wasn't quite perfect they all passed her by without a second thought. But one of our volunteers couldn't do that, they could see how sweet and gentle she was giving kisses and wagging her whole body. Now she is in a foster home and has really started to blossom. Those missing toes don't stop her from running and jumping and playing like any other dog. The only difference is that she wears a boot to protect the parts of her foot where the pad is missing when she is outside. She loves her foster dad who thinks she is part mountain goat because she like to jump up on the bed and snuggle with him. She is quite a character and likes to get on top of her crate and look at herself in the mirror. Katie loves to be with people she will follow you around the house or is just happy lie by your feet. She is working on her house manners, is crate trained and knows basic commands. She is good with other dogs and although she has not seen a cat, she would probably be ok.
