Duchess is a beautiful AKC registered long hair German Shepherd. Her birthday is July 6, 1999. She was purchased from a breeder by her owners as a puppy and has lived the pampered life of a princess. Due to health reasons her owners were no longer able to keep her and asked the rescue to help find Duchess a new loving home. Duchess has been professionally trained and knows hand signals as well as voice commands. Duchess is also trained to lie on her bed and goes there willingly when you tell her to go to bed. She has spent her life as an inside dog with two small canine friends. She can be an active girl and loves to play with toys, but is very calm and is happy just to hang out with you. She is adapting to her foster home and her new larger canine friends. We are not sure how she would be with cats as we are not sure that she has ever seen one. She is also good with older children.
