Benny von Agoura Hills
Adopted
Benny
von Agoura Hills is a beautiful all black German Shepherd, possibly
a touch of
Labrador. Whatever he is, it all adds up to a delightful puppy. Benny
has it all personality and a great temperament. He isn't nippy or mouthy
at all like so many pups his age. He's absolutely the best retriever,
especially in a pup so young. Very watchful of where the ball goes
and never fails to bring it back to you (we're working on "drop" but
he does give the ball up pretty easily). He also already had learned "sit" or
he's a really quick learner. He is very nervous about being left alone,
isn't afraid of things like the vacuum but isn't too confident when
it comes to other dogs. He's warming up to his canine foster sister. Foster
mom update: Benny is the #1 retriever and when he's in "the
zone" he doesn't even drop the ball for a potty break (yes,
he holds it in his mouth while he poops). Then when he needs a drink,
he drops the ball in his water bowl so he can keep his eye on it
the whole time he's lapping up the H20. When he's done, he simply
picks the ball out of the water and trots right over to you and is
only mildly bewildered when you're not dying to pick up the dripping-wet
treasure as he drops it at your feet. But he’s so cute he knows
we can't deny him a little game of sloppy-ball so the whole thing
starts all over again. Tomorrow we're introducing the soccer ball,
and I suspect he'll be a natural. Benny was intercepted
in front of a shelter his family was turning him in because he ate
a cable cord. One of our volunteers was there,
Tim to the rescue!
