Bear
Adopted
Bear
is incredibly beautiful, two year old, but that isn't even the best
thing about him. He is so gentle and calm, it was such a pleasure to
see this gentle guys personality emerge. In the shelter he has been
so despondent, he felt so depressed he couldn't even look at anyone.
We got a dreaded call from the shelter that Bear was on the list that
day to be euthanized. One of our wonderful volunteers drove hours to
pick up Bear and take him to one of the veterinary offices where we
board our dogs. Only the farthest one still had room. When the volunteer
walked into the crowded veterinary office with Bear, still unnamed at
that point, some children surrounded him and insisted that a good name
for him would be "Bear." The first time we saw Bear respond
was to a little girl, his tail started to wag. He seemed proud to be
standing next to her. When one of the volunteers took Bear out for his
pictures, he walked attached to her side, if she stopped Bear stopped,
if she took a step, he took a step. We call dogs like this Velcro dogs.
Bear wants so badly to have a family to love and to cherish him. We
gave Bear lots of kisses and love before we had to put him back in boarding,
but you can see from the pictures he was getting his spirit back. Bear
was a perfect gentleman in the vet office with other animals of all
sizes. We are in love! |
