Austin von Tittle is a beautiful, huge purebred German Shepherd. Austin is AKC, born 1/18/99 from Jasper Jax von Tittle and Brooke Lynn von Tittle. His breeders are Maryann Tittle and Pam Patterson. He is black and cream with a light face. We would guess that he is 135 lbs, looks like a small horse. He is very sweet and gentle with an easy going personality, but can be protective of his people. Austin lived with four other big dogs - male and female. He is not good with cats. His owner has had him since he was a puppy, but recently was sighted by animal control for having too many dogs. The shelter referred him to us.

Austin knew something was up when his owners drove to meet our volunteer. He stayed as close as he could to his owners side.. The four year old boy in the family came out to say goodbye and was crying. Austin was as tall as the little boy and gave him a kiss as if to comfort him. Once he was in the car he spent the entire ride looking back and at the different trucks that went by as if he thought he was going to see his family. When the volunteers took him out to take his pictures, he played with one of our volunteers and his kong toy and when it was time to go he leapt right up into the back of the SUV. When our volunteers took him to the boarding kennel, he thought he was going back with them. He seemed heartbroken that he was losing someone else. Austin is an incredible dog, he is so beautiful and so impressive looking, but even better, he is a gentle giant. He just wants a family to love who will be committed to him forever. At least he got to keep his beloved kong toy.
