Wolfgang von Ghosh
Adopted

Wolfgang von Ghosh is a striking looking, German Shepherd. Wolfgang has a very short neat coat and always looks like he was just groomed. Wolfgang is so gentle and the world is a scary place for him. We think although his family took good physical care of Wolf, that they never took him anywhere. Stairs are scary for him even a slippery linoleum floor in the vet hospital is concern for Wolf. He loves other dogs large and small. He is okay with cats but he might ask you to protect him. Wolf is one of those dogs who will blossom in front of your eyes once he feels loved and secure.

Foster home update:

Wolfgang's doing well since Saturday. He gets along very well with both dogs and loves to run and chase our other shepherd around the backyard. We've noticed that he does really well with other dogs and would probably do better in a home with another dog. He's learning quicker from them than from what we're teaching him. He's housebroken and it
took him 30 seconds to learn the doggie door. He hasn't barked at all except for the occassional grunt when he's playing with the other dogs. He was afraid of our tile for a while but he's fine now. We think it might be partly of his short claws: he has no traction and slips a lot.
He's also gotten over his fear of cats quite quickly. He chases them -
mostly out of curiosity when they run from him - but he'll cower if they stand their ground. We're not too concerned of it, though. Our other shepherd acted the same way for a month or so and he gradually settled down and became indifferent towards them.
Oh, and another thing, he doesn't really respond to Wolfgang too well, but for some reason he responds to "Mozart" almost immediately. So we've
been calling him that. He knows sit and shake but is hit-and-miss with down. We're working on it. He hasn't gone for a walk yet - we're waiting until he's a little more settled in before we tackle that. We also haven't introduced him to other people yet. He was very unsure/afraid of
me for about a day but warmed up to my wife immediately. He never leaves her side.
