Redford von Brink
Adopted

Redford is a gorgeous, young male German Shepherd. He is very well bred with a larger head and beautiful red and black coloring. We think he is about 2 years old. He has not had it easy in his short life and he is looking for that special someone. Redford is obedience trained and responds to “sit,”“lie down,”“stay” and “heel” extremely well. He so much wants to please; if he feels that he didn’t, he lies down flat with his head against the floor, and just follows you with his eyes.

Redford loves to play bal;, he fetches it from wherever you throw it and brings it back to you. Anyone can take the ball out of his mouth because he does not have one mean bone in his body. Red is housebroken and trained to wait at the door until asked to come inside. He patiently lies down and waits, if necessary all day, without getting in trouble.

Redford will turn heads wherever he goes; he is stunning to look at and of good size. As a guard dog he can give an alarming bark that would stop an invader in his tracks, but he is just a sweet teddy bear looking for love. Red is non-confrontational with other dogs and currently lives with one male and two other females. He might even be o.k. with cats. Red could also be an only dog. He would be fine in either situation.

Dogs like Redford face an inevitable fate at shelters. Through no fault of his own he was born with an hereditary condition. Redford was emaciated when the rescue first saw him. Westside knew it will take a very special person to give Redford a chance at life. But that is what rescues strive to do; beautiful, amazing animals like Redord from being put to sleep and giving them a chance of a full and happy life.
The name of the illness is Parianal Fistula and we have attached a reference for anyone interested in Red. PF is a hereditary illness found mainly in the German Shepherd breed.

Will you be that special someone to give Red a chance? He will devote himself completely to you in exchange.
