Heinz von Huston is a stunning 7 year old black and red German Shepherd. This super-mellow, sweet boy just wants to hang out and be loved on. He is housebroken, crate trained and learning basic commands. We think he may have been used for breeding in his past life (what gorgeous pups he must have sired!) because he shows symptoms of both excessive crating and unfamiliarity with the outside environment at night. Many times he opts to lie in his crate, even when the door is open and he could easily emerge. Heinz walks well on leash and responds to corrections. He takes treats gently from your hand, and will sit and raise his paw to let you know he wants you to pet him. In his foster home he likes to hang out with his temporary family and their little, 10-pound dog in the back yard, soaking up the sun. Handsome Heinz can be bossy at times so he will do best with an experienced, patient handler in a calm, less active home, hopefully including another mellow dog. (No cats or small children for this beautiful boy).
